A federal grand jury in Peoria today returned a two count drug death indictment against a Fulton County man. 38 year old Jeremy Settles of Lewistown is charged with conspiracy to distribute heroin and distribution of heroin, both resulting in death.

The charges stem from the death of 18 year old Rebecca Chambers. Settles allgedly provided and injected chambers with heroin that resulted in her death.

If convicted, each offense carries a statutory penalty of 20 years to life imprisonment. Fulton County State's Attorney John Clark said those federal penalties led to his decision to ask federal prosecutors to take this case to deter those who promote illegal drugs.
