SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- A bill to help local governments pay for cleanup after natural disasters is on it's way to the Illinois house.

The bill is sponsored by Senator Dave Koehler of Peoria.

The bill would allow IEMA to reimburse local governments for costs of debris removal and emergency protective measures.

Illinois government was denied Federal aid after the November tornadoes.

Koehler said the bill applies to the November storms and other disasters in the future.
