You have a chance to get a unique Christmas tree and decorations--while helping children in need.
The Festival of Trees at U.S. Cellular Coliseum is the Baby Fold's only fundraiser of the year. They are hoping to bring in around a quarter of a million dollars from the weekend activities--the biggest one being the tree auction.
Some local designers like 86 year old Irma Laesck Spend months hand crafting these wheat tree ornaments to help the kids at the Baby Fold.
Irma said, "I hope it'll go for $400.00 The Angel price is $440.00 We put a lot of ornaments on this tree. There are 275 ornaments on there."
Pete Moore from The Baby Fold said, "These children have fallen through the cracks somewhere. Either because of something they're battling at home or something their families are battling. Without the Baby Fold in place, a lot of these kids will end up in a mental hospital-some will end up on the street."
The Baby fold's residential treatment facility houses 28 kids with special needs. Tomorrow morning is Breakfast with Santa and there's a Christmas concert tomorrow night.
