Final look at closing dorms at Illinois State University

NORMAL Ill -- Illinois State University is giving one last look at their four residence halls that will be closing following the summer.

Colby, Atkins, Hamilton, and Whitten Halls along with the Feeney Dining Hall will be shut down due to the high costs of renovation.

There are no plans to tear down the buildings right now, but they may be used for storage.

The buildings will be open tomorrow from 9 to 10:30 am

They are the oldest standing residence halls on campus.

Illinois State's housing department says they will still have plenty of room for students with more options for sophomore and upper class students.

"Those Students will have the option of choosing between the remaining residents halls. And then sophomore students can live at Cardinal Court. The change that is a little different this fall is that upper class students. We do have a few spaces for upper class students, but we are encouraging many of them to seek off campus housing, " said Assistant Director of Marketing for Housing Department, Jamie Wood.

Lunch will be served for visitors following the tours at Feeney Dining Hall
