NORMAL, Ill. -- A family is left homeless after fire destroyed their mobile home in Normal's North Meadow Village.
Authorities say multiple callers reported seeing smoke and flames around 2:40 Friday morning.
Firefighters worked to contain the fire for about 30 minutes before it was brought under control.
Two adult occupants were able to escape safely before firefighters' arrival.
Damage is estimated at $24,000 and is deemed a total loss.
The American Red Cross of the Heartland is assisting the homeowners.
At this time, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
