CHILLICOTHE, Ill.-- Flood clean-up is underway throughout Central Illinois and some homeowners in Chillicothe are shocked at the damage.

Homeowners spent the day with the squeegee scraping mud and water out of their homes, hoping the waves don't force it back in.

Joy Morganstern raised her home after the flood in 2009, but the water still came in through her basement, ripping off her sliding door in the process.

She says she never expected there would be this much damage. "I had no clue. No clue. I had stuff on chairs in that other little room and I really didn't think it would get in there but. We have a lot of damage, all the doors are ajar, and we got a lot of damage. We've been here 25 years. This is the worst that we've had."

Morganstern says she does have flood insurance and she's hoping that FEMA pulls through as well.
