METAMORA, Ill. -- Friday night marks the kickoff of the high school football season in Illinois.
In some towns, the games can score some big bucks for local businesses.
Whenever Metamora plays, Kouri's Grill and Bar in neighboring Germantown Hills packs them in for its Redbird Replays.
Fans can see a delayed telecast of the game while they enjoy a late supper.
Manager Denny Kouri says the restaurant feeds off the success of the team.
"People are really excited, their blood's up, they just came back from the home game," said Kouri. "They want to see their kids or each other make a big play on TV so they all come in and hunker down. They have something to eat or drink and they watch the game."
Kouri says Football Friday's are some of the restaurant's busiest nights of the year.
Metamora opens the season Friday night against Richwoods, and Kouri says he's expecting a full house like always.
