PEORIA, Ill. -- The empty Aldi Building on Peoria's south side has been sold.

First Council Woman Denise Moore confirms that the former Aldi building on Western Avenue has been purchased by a real estate company, which is now working to find tenants.

In January, Aldi consolidated the store on Western with a brand new location in East Peoria.

Peoria's first district has been without a full-service grocery store since then.
