CHICAGO -- A former Bradley basketball star is recovering after being attacked and robbed yesterday.

According to the Chicago Tribune, 37-year-old Adebayo Akinkunle was in his Chicago South Loop condo, when the attackers entered his home.

The men pistol-whipped Akinkunle, who suffered a cut to the head, a broken nose, and a cut to his left wrist.

The intruders stole more than $100,000 in cash, a closet safe, two cell phones and Akinkunle's wallet and credit cards, before leaving in his Range Rover.

Akinkunle was the 1998 Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year and was inducted into the Bradley Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.

During his time at Bradley, he lead the Braves to three postseason appearances.
