CANTON, Ill. -- Authorities do not suspect foul play in an incident that claimed the life of a three-year-old boy in Fulton County on Friday.

Gavin M. Klein of Cuba was pronounced dead a little after 9 p.m. at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Authorities say that the boy was with his father,Christopher Archdale, at a rural home in the Canton area.

Archdale told authorities he was working outside with three other men while keeping an eye on the child as he played. However, at one point Archdale could no longer see the child playing, so he ran to the swing set.

The boy was found on a slide with a rope around his neck. Police are investigating whether the rope was part of the swing set.

The men took the boy to Graham Hospital in Canton. From there, the boy was transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, where he was later taken off of life support.

Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersol is yet to release the results of an autopsy that was performed on Saturday.
