PEORIA, IL. -- According to the CDC, more than a million people are living with HIV, and one in five don't even know they are infected.

Saturday, the Central Illinois Friends of People with Aids group is hosting a free HIV testing event in Peoria.

Organizers say people who find out they are HIV-positive early can get treatment to help them live longer, healthier lives.

The free testing event will be held at John Gwynn, Junior Park from noon to five.
