PEORIA, Ill -- A fund has been set up to benefit a family whose home was damaged in a fire on Thursday.

The fire took place at 1110 W. Virgina Avenue at approximately 2:37 p.m.  Firefighters say that the fire started in the home's bedroom.  While the fire was contained to the bedroom, the rest of home sustained heat and smoke damage.  Damage is estimated to be at $15000.

The family of four that rented the above address had only lived there for a few months.  The family does not have insurance.  The family has two children, aged five and four years old.

Checks can be mailed to or dropped off at any CEFCU location.  Checks must have "FBO Maddalena Roe" written on them.
