The City of Galesburg has welcomed a new business to the area.

Galesburg has reached an agreement with Lamboo Incorporated, a green technology company specializing in manufacturing of bamboo for structural, architectural and industrial applications worldwide.

CEO Luke Schuette says they have leased a 5,000 square foot space inside the city's Sustainable Business Center.

Mayor Sal Garza stated, " Lamboo represents the type of business we are looking to attract to the region: innovative, sustainable, clean and with a solid vision of the future."

The company is looking to hire five employees initially with room for future additions over the next year.
