Galesburg trying to lure Caterpillar into town

Galesburg, Ill. -- Leaders of one Heart of Illinois city are taking unique steps to lure more jobs their way.

The city of Galesburg placing a full page ad in today's Peoria Journal Star.

The ad is a letter of appreciation to Caterpillar, as well as an invitation to consider Galesburg in the company's search for the site of a future manufacturing plant.

The ad touts the city as being nationally connected, centrally located and in possession of a talented labor pool.

The letter ends "we are equipped and ready to partner with Caterpillar and invite you to establish a globally competitive manufacturing operation in Galesburg."
