Let the games begin. The 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics makes its prime-time debut Thursday night right here on WEEK.

Eleven Illinois Athletes and 10 Chicago Blackhawks players will be participating in this year's games.

We heard from one of the Bradley University students interning with NBC in Sochi.

Anna Wilks said she will be at the Opening Ceremony Friday night.

She is a public relations major and will spend the next two weeks guiding marketing sponsors around to the different games and venues.

Wilks said this experience is more than she could have ever dreamed.

That same excitement can be found here on the streets of Central Illinois.

"I'm excited for the figure skating because it's exciting, it's fast pace, it's different than the other sports. It's new."

"Hockey, it's nice to watch, but the rest of it, nah."

"My wife used to be a speed-skater, my daughter and my granddaughter all used to be speed-skaters so it's something dear to the heart. "

"I don't really care of the winter part of it, I do like the summer part but not the winter."

"Ice skating. I just love ice skating, I like the things they do. I like the twirls, the competition."
