Average gas prices fall by almost 12 cents in central Illinois

PEORIA, Ill. -- Gas prices in Peoria have fallen almost 12 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.09 per gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy.com.

Nationally, prices have fallen a little over five cents per gallon in the last week to $3.20 per gallon.

Prices Sunday were 32 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 28 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.

The national average has decreased slightly over 17 cents per gallon during the last month and stands at almost 27 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.

Some gas stations in East Peoria and Washington saw prices as low as $2.99 last week.
