WASHINGTON, Ill. -- Sunday night a group of Georgetown Commons residents came together to take a last look at their former homes.

The residents were hoping to gain closure, as plans for demolition await the property.

Many are still frustrated with a process that kept them from collecting their belonging due to safety concerns.

"I mean we lost pictures, we lost you know our marriage certificate, everything," said former resident Cindy Zimmerman. "I think it is for the best. It gets hard to drive past here everyday and just look at something sitting here. I think that finally it is going to come down and we can kind of just move on from it now."

The demolition is expected to begin no later than May 19th.
