PEORIA HEIGHTS, Ill. -- In remembrance of Pearl Harbor and the sacrifices of all veterans, State Representative Jehan Gordon Booth is hosting her second annual free veterans breakfast.

Last year, the event brought in around 300 veterans and their families.

On Saturday, Representative Gordon-Booth will be joined by local dignitaries to offer free pancake and sausage breakfasts.

"We do this as a way to give back to the veterans in our community, who have served," said Gordon-Booth. "We just want to honor them and give them the opportunity to build some camaraderie with some of their friends in the community."

Our very own Lee Hall will be among those serving up food.

The Second Annual Veterans' Appreciation Breakfast is Saturday, December 8 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, located at 1505 East Lake Avenue in Peoria Heights.
