BLOOMINGTON, Ill.-- A McLean County Grand Jury has indicted a Normal teenager on a charge of murder.
This is the just latest in a list of charges against Lar'ron Carroll, 17, in connection with the January 21 shooting death of Kuantre "Trae" Massey, 16.
Authorities said the boys were handling a stolen gun and, as Carroll allegedly gave it to Massey, it went off shooting the teen in the chest. He died a short time later at a local hospital.
Carroll also faces charges of aggravated battery with a firearm, involuntary manslaughter, possession of a stolen firearm and two counts of unlawful use of a firearm.
He remains in the McLean County jail on $500,000 bond.
His next court appearance is scheduled for February 26.
