Hazmat crew airs out Holiday Inn

EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- East Peoria Firefighters and Peoria Hazardous Material team took control of a dangerous chemical situation Friday morning at the Holiday Inn in the Levy District.

According to Assistant Fire Chief John Knapp, a hotel maintenance worker combined a couple of pool chemicals that created bad fumes.

No severe injuries were reported.

Hazmat contained the fumes and aired the building out.
