Heartland Community College appoints interim president

NORMAL, Ill. – The Heartland Community College board of trustees voted unanimously on Friday to appoint Robert D. Widmer as the College’s interim president.

Widmer has served as Vice President of Business Services and Treasurer for HCC since 1996. He previously served as Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs at Joliet Junior College, as well as with the Illinois Community College Board.

Widmer has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics from Western Illinois University. He pursued doctoral course work at the University of Illinois at Springfield and at Illinois State University.
