Help contact numbers for storm victims

CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- Various organizations are offering their services in the wake of the tornadoes that ripped through central Illinois on Sunday.

State Farm has a hotline set up for tornado related claims, just call 1-800-SF-CLAIM.

A spokeswoman says the company has all ready received 1800 claims statewide, and they expect that number to grow. State Farm says that If you are making temporary fixes to your home, keep any receipts. You may be reimbursed for them later.

Country Financial customers can call 1-866-COUNTRY, stop by the company's temporary office in Washington (2265 Washington Rd.) or our claims office in West Peoria (1716 N. University). They can also visit to file a claim.

COUNTRY has had over 2,000 claims filed so far statewide but they expect that number to increase as customers are allowed back into hard hit areas of Washington.

In addition, American Family Insurance can be contacted at 1-800-MYAMFAM (1-800-692-6326), option 1.

Allstate customers can report property or auto damage from the recent storms by calling 1-800-54-STORM (800-547-8676).

Also, the Red Cross is accepting donations by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.

Illinois Central College is opening its dorms. They have 40-80 beds available if you or someone you know needs a place to sleep. Call (309)698-2088

The Washington Park District is offering free childcare all day Monday at 105 S. Spruce St. in Washington from 6:30 a.m. to 4:40 p.m.

Riverview Senior Living in East Peoria is offering temporary housing for any seniors displaced by the storm. Call 309-229-6258 for more information.

Finally, Pekin Veterinary Clinic and Aboard the Ark in Pekin are providing emergency housing for pets. They are located on Olt Avenue in Pekin.
