PEORIA, Ill. -- War technology from a different era flew into central Illinois on Monday.
"Maid in the Shade", a B-25 Bomber, flew into the Peoria International Airport on Monday afternoon.
The plane was flown in World War II and used in over 15 combat missions. Now it is flying all across the country as a tribute to veterans.
"People don't realize what happened in the 40s and this is just to give them history of what's happened and everything that was going on back then," said Bob Taylor, Crew Chief of Maid in the Shade.
If you are interested in seeing the plane, it will be at the Peoria International Airport until Sunday, August 4.
Ground tours are available from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Paid flights are scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
