PEORIA, Ill. -- Some people who spent their money shopping Saturday also helped out a local preschool and daycare facility.
Northminster Learning Center in Peoria hosted a holiday fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
More than two dozen vendors bought booth space, with the proceeds going toward the funding of early childhood and after school programs at the center.
Some of the products for sale included home made jewelry, women's purses and food items.
"We are having a vendor fair to help support our programming here at Northminster Learning Center. We have over 30 vendors here to help support us," said Allison Rattenborg, associate director for the center. "We also have all kinds of goodies here and we also have some raffle tickets and prizes here that people can sign up for to support the programming as well."
This was the first year for the Northminster Holiday Fair. Organizers were hoping to raises about $2,000.
