PEORIA, Ill. -- Some Peoria area residents got a head start on their holiday shopping Saturday.
The Holy Family School hosted its first Holiday Fair to raise money for classroom enrichment.
There were more than 35 vendors at the event, selling anything from purses, pottery, toys, to Christmas decorations.
Each vendor paid a $35 dollar entry fee with all the money going to the school.
"Our goal was to pull the community together to raise money for Holy Family and also to kick off the holiday shopping. It's already almost Halloween and the Christmas decorations are out."
Organizers say money collected will go towards improving in classroom technology along with playground equipment.
