EAST PEORIA, Ill.-- A local park is reeling in business, while helping children find a new hobby.

Hooked on Fishing in East Peoria held its first fishing derby of the year on Saturday.

Children and their families came out to try their hand at catching the biggest fish.

After the tournament, a new addition was unveiled for the park, the Hooked on Fishing boat.

Park President Bob Quinn said the addition helps the park live up to its name.

"Every kid likes to fish," said Quinn. "If you have no desire to fish, I guarantee you once you catch a fish you'll enjoy it. So we find that kids that never fish or have no desire they come out here and they catch one and they are hooked. The family aspect is a big draw as well."

Derbies at Hooked on Fishing in East Peoria are held the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month now through September.
