PEORIA, Ill. -- Letting the "chips fall where they may" isn't a motto usually used by those working towards a cure for breast cancer, unless those chips are potato chips.

For the first time, Kitchen Cooked is producing pink potato chip bags, in support of the Memorial Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

"It's amazing the feedback we've gotten already," said Paul Blackhurst, Vice President of Kitchen Cooked, Inc. "It's just been great. Seems like such a small thing changing the color, but tying in with the Race for the Cure and the Komen Foundation, it's a great fit."

Tens cents from every pink bag sold will go to the Peoria Race for the Cure, the foundation's biggest fundraiser.

"it's not just pink for the sake of pink," said Gina Morss-Fischer, Development Director for the Komen Memorial Affiliate. "It's actual dollars from the sales of those bags coming back to the affiliate to help us save lives, and hopefully, one day, end breast cancer forever."

Why not get a brat to go with those Kitchen Cooked chips at Brats for the Cure, running this weekend outside of the Peoria Schnucks.

Next Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11, all Peoria and Bartonville McDonald's restaurants will donate $1 from every small strawberry shake to Komen for the Cure.

"The strawberry shake is pink, so it's just an easy way to get the community involved," said Ashley Catour, the McDonald's office manager.

It's that involvement that helps the local push to find a cure for breast cancer worldwide.

You can sport pink and support breast cancer research all month long.

Komen for the Cure activities will run up until the big Race on May 11th and through the rest of the month.
