PEORIA, Ill. -- The state high school basketball finals tip off in less than 24 hours.

That means players, families and fans are coming from across the state looking for a place to stay.

Hotels across the area are filling up and that includes the newly remodeled Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette.

This will be the first time since 2011 that the hotel has been open for March Madness.

However, finding a room downtown may still be difficult.

The Four Points by Sheraton is closed for remodeling. That means 300 fewer rooms are up for grabs.

"It's a challenge for us not to have the Sheraton by Four Point in operation," said Don Welch of the Peoria Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau. "It's a challenge not only for these two weekends, but for other events that we got booked because we're having to relocate them to other hotels."

The Four Points by Sheraton and new Marriott Courtyard Inn and Suites should both be open for next year's tournament.
