ISU Grad Champ Oguchi plays for Nigeria in Olympics

LONDON -- Illinois State University has representation in the 2012 summer Olympics, Champ Oguchi. The ISU Grad is a member of the Nigerian Basketball team.

The shooting guard was born and raised in Texas but both of his parents are from Nigeria giving him dual-citizenship.

He started playing with the Nigerian team his Freshman summer.

Oguchi says his parents are very proud and says he represents Nigeria just as much as the United States.

"This is something that as a child you can only dream of. I'm just excited to be here. I'm excited to share this moment with my Nigerian teammates. It's just a great proud moment for me personally and the millions of people back in Nigeria," said Oguchi via Skype.

Nigeria plays their first game Sunday.
