EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- The Illinois State Crimestopppers Association is celebrating 30 years of crime fighting.

The group is gathering in East Peoria, this weekend, for their Annual Conference and Training Program.

The anonymous tipster hotline has paid out more than $6 million for leads that resulted in a conviction and made more than 120,000 arrests statewide since 1983.

The association's president says the Peoria area is a great place to celebrate the group's success.

"Back in 1983, a group of Peoria Board Members started the Illinois State Crimestoppers Association, and actually this is our 30 year of the association and it's great to be back here this year," Bill Nation of Illinois Sate Crimestoppers Association.
