BLOOMINGTON, Ill.-- The great outdoors may not sound too appealing on a rainy day, but hundreds of people stopped in the most ‘outdoorsy’ indoor event happening over the weekend.

Embry Custom Woodworking out of Peoria is one of the many exhibitors at this weekend's Illinois Fish and Feather Expo at the Interstate Conference Center in Bloomington.

Jeff Embry owner of Embry Custom Woodworking said, "I make deer grunts, goose calls and duck calls. And I created the new series called Angry Duck."

This is the tenth year for the hunting, fishing and boating show. Expo Owner Larry Andris says hundreds of people travel from all over the continent to be a part of the event.

"Anywhere from Northwest Ontario, Canada to North Fork Lake in Arkansas," said Andris. "We have 115 booths and almost 100 exhibitors."

Embry says expos like this one help draw attention to his products.

"Events like this are very beneficial because it gets me out in front of a lot of potential customers. People come here looking for different types of hunting events and different styles," said Embry. "So people can come by... they can see the unique style of the call that I make and also some of the merchandise I make to promote the name."

But if duck calls are not on your shopping list, you're likely bound to find or win something that is.

The expo has everything from cheesecake and salt water taffy to vacation giveaways.

Vendor Jerry Growdesky of Farm and Lake Houses Real Estate says it's not just about what's being sold but where.

"I love the location because Bloomington is a very thriving area and it's also very centralized so that you get a lot of people from all parts of the state coming in here to see everything from fishing lures on up through real estate," said Growdesky. "And it's kind of like one stop shopping."

A one-stop shop indoors for those who love the outdoors.
