CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Illinois Department of Employment Security announced Thursday that June's unemployment rate was up by a tenth of a percent from May to sit at 9.2 percent.

Illinois also added 9,000 private sector jobs in June, according to data released Thursday.

In June 2013, the number of unemployed increased by 1,600 individuals to 600,700.

The IDES says that the economic cycle since January of 2010 has been volatile and that sustained consumer confidence would reduce that volatility.
