Illinois unemployment rate unchanged from February

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Illinois Department of Employment Security announced Thursday that the March unemployment rate was 9.5 percent, unchanged from February.

Illinois recorded 17,800 fewer jobs compared to February.

However, the IDES reports that the three month moving average of job growth shows 1,100 jobs added each month so far this year.

In March 2013, the number of unemployed individuals increased 1,700 to 629,200.
