WASHINGTON, Ill. -- Nancy and Daniel Topping have lived in Washington for more than a decade. They are a team--a husband and wife spending Thanksgiving putting their home back together after an EF-4 tornado struck their home.

"Heard the pounding and the blowing, and I just hoped the roof wouldn't come down," said Nancy.

"Our backyard used to be all green. There were so many trees and flowers," said Nancy.

"First we have to clean up the house, let the windows replaced and part of the roof has to be re-shingled," said Daniel.

Even after everything they have gone through, they are just happy to be alive.

"She's my home," said Daniel.

"This tornado is just something that happened," said Nancy. "You can't control it. You just have to go with it...at least we still have a home."
