PEORIA, Ill. -- An Ohio Judge has ruled against Bradley University Men's Basketball Coach Geno Ford, awarding his former employer Kent State $1.2 million.

The lawsuit claimed Ford breached his coaching contract with Kent State when he accepted his current position with Bradley in 2011. That contract was scheduled to expire in 2015.

Kent State officials said they will continue to pursue their claims against Bradley in a trial set for October 7.

In a statement, an attorney for Bradley University states the school "continues to strongly believe that it's and Coach Ford's actions have been entirely ethical, legal and transparent."
