Just how cold has this winter been?

CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- As another polar vortex hits Central Illinois, we wanted to know just how cold this winter has been. Thanks to the national weather service in Lincoln, we got our answer.

According to their latest report, Peoria is currently in its seventh coldest winter on record.

Unfortunately for Bloomington-Normal, they are facing their 3rd coldest winter.

As for how cold those days area, Peoria has had 19 nights below zero this winter.

Bloomington-Normal has had 24 frigid nights of their own.

However, with the expected cold tempeatures, that number is likely to increase during the week.
