An important deadline for seniors.
If you receive a paper check for your social security, by law you have until today to switch to an electronic payment method.
If you collect Social Security, you now have to receive your benefits through direct deposit or loaded onto a direct express debit card.
If you haven't made the switch yet, get online and visit www.godirect.org.
If you have an account at a bank or credit union, you can go there to sign up for direct deposit.
Seniors born on or before May 1, 1921 can opt to still receive a paper check.
