The conservative website, Illinois Review, is reporting Republican Senator Darin LaHood, State Senator may be looking at a run for State Treasurer.

Lahood, son of the former Congressman and current Transportation Secretary, is two years into a four year term in the Illinois Senate.

LaHood was involved in Republican Dan Rutherford's campaign when he successfully ran for Treasurer. Now that Rutherford is running for Governor, and the Treasurer's seat will be up for grabs.

We were unable to reach LaHood for comment Thursday.

There are already two Republicans --Bob Schillerstrom and Bob Grogan, both from DuPage County-- who have announced interest as Treasurer candidates.
