MARSHALL COUNTY, Ill. -- A Lacon man is dead after crashing his motorcycle early Friday morning in Marshall County.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff's department, 36-year-old Edward McAbee was travelling eastbound on Route 18 around one a.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle at the Sandy Creek Bridge curve and struck a guardrail.
McAbee was taken to the Marshall-Putnam county fairgrounds to meet with Lifeflight from OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was pronounced dead by the Lifeflight personal.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department and coroner's office are investigating the accident.
