PEORIA, Ill -- A Las Vegas man is motoring his way through Central Illinois, as part of an effort to see all 50 states in 50 weeks.

After losing his business, Kevin Parsons decided to ride his motorcycle across the country.

He left home on April 29th, and says since then, he has been in and out of several states.

Parsons says that highlights of his trip include tours of unusual sites. Lowpoints include wildly variating weather conditions.

"In Illinois we know today the weather was in the 100's. We had snow. We've actually went down to Denver in a snow storm. We've had hot weather, we've had a lot of rain. So the weather has been a big challenge," said Kevin Parsons.

Parsons says despite the heat, he has enjoyed his brief time in Central Illinois.
