PEORIA, Ill. -- With just one day left before the departure of the St. Jude Memphis to Peoria run, preparations are still being done.

A team of volunteers has been filling up vans with snacks, towels, drinks and other items.

Pepsi donated dozens of cases of water and Gatorade for the run.

Much of the prep work was finished Sunday, but a few small things still needed to be done.

"We kind of have a skeleton crew here today doing last minute odds and ends," said Run Coordinator Ryan Beck. "We had lots of people here yesterday getting the 24 motor homes through and packed up with all the water and odds and ends that they need for the week. Today we're getting ready all of our chase vans that go behind the runners."

The runners will load up in the motor homes and head to Memphis Tuesday morning. The run begins Wednesday morning.

The runners return to Peoria on Saturday and will make their grand appearance into the Civic Center at the start of the 36th Annual St. Jude Telethon.

You can catch all the coverage live from 6:30 p.m to midnight this Saturday August 3 right here on WEEK.

You can also call in a donation to help the children treated by St. Jude Children's Hospital.
