WASHINGTON, DC -- It appears that we will avoid going off the "Dairy Cliff" for now.
Party leaders on the House and Senate Agriculture Committes have agreed to a one year extension of the expired farm bill.
The proposal should stabilize dairy prices. There were fears that milk prices could more than double if the government reverted to an outdated pricing policy.
There is no word on when the deal might come up for a vote.
