Lawsuits filed against Subway for "too short" footlongs

January 24, 2013 Updated Oct 26, 2013 at 1:16 AM CDT

NATIONWIDE -- Subway sandwich lovers across the country are upset over an inch, an inch of the sandwich shop's footlong sub that they say is missing.

NBC News is reporting that class action lawsuits have been filed across the country that claim the footlong is only 11 inches and that the customers are being charged for an inch of sub they never get.

The lawsuits say customers are owed a refund for the portion of the sandwich they did not receive.

The suits also allege that the six inch subs come up short, too.

Subway has declined to comment on the lawsuit, but a spokesman did say the restaurant chain has "redoubled efforts to ensure consistency and correct length in every sandwich we serve."
