LeRoy Police arrest drunk driver

LeROY, IL-- A marked LeRoy Police car responded to calls of a wrong-way driver traveling east in the westbound lanes of I-74 near Milepost 148. The driver of the car, Robert O. Wick, traveled straight towards the marked Police car, whose lights and siren were activated.

The marked Police car braked and swerved towards the median to acoid a head on collision. Wick then sideswiped the passenger said of the Police car.

Neither driver reported injuries due to the crash.

Reports say Wick was arrested with charges for: DUI, leaving the scene of a PD accident, reckless driving, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to reduce speed, driving the wrong way, improper lane usage, and disobeying a controlled access highway.

Bond was set at $125.

A spokesperson at the McClean County Jail says Wick has posted bond.
