LINCOLN, Ill. -- School District 27 in Lincoln has delayed the start of classes for some students due to problems with the installation of new air conditioning units.

Students at Washington-Monroe and Northwest schools will not start classes this fall until August 26.

School officials said the buildings were due for an upgrade. Only some of the classrooms had window air conditioning units.

The school's new system will be geothermal heating and cooling, which officials said will save them money down the line.
