PEORIA, Ill -- Peoria is the temporary home of part of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum from Springfield.
The traveling exhibit opened yesterday at the Peoria Riverfront Museum.
It features seven kiosks which highlight Lincoln's life from childhood until his assassination.
This is the last stop of the traveling tour before the materials are retired.
The museum’s Curator of Education Ann Smchidt says, "Our mission here is to provide life-long learning, and we cover multiple disciplines: art, science, history and achievement, so this gives us an opportunity to highlight some history that is both national and of particular interest to people who are here from Illinois."
There will be live action features with the exhibit throughout its run, including a Lincoln impersonator, Civil War medical re-enactments, and Civil War era dancers.
The exhibit closes on August 25th.
