Tensions are high in Haiti following Sunday's elections, with a majority of candidates accusing voting officials of fraud.

The backdrop for this is a deadly Cholera outbreak that plagues the population.

Central Illinois' own Doctor John Carroll has been in Haiti since Thanksgiving Day, working with the charity 'Haitian Hearts.'

He sent us these images of cholera-patients he is treating, and wrote about his experience on election day.

He said the director of a morning church service, "...told people not to accept money from corrupt people today to vote for a candidate."

He added, "...hopes are not high that the election results will actually help Haitians who need the most help."

Be sure to watch News 25 and HOI-19 for more updates from Dr. John Carroll during his time in Haiti.
