PEORIA, Ill. -- The owners of a local McDonald's franchise are going against the grain this holiday season.

While many McDonald's restaurants remained open this Christmas Day, the Peoria and Bartonville locations were closed for business.

Clark Management, the owner of the local chain, decided to go against a recommendation from the McDonald's corporate office to have all the 'golden arches' open for the holiday.

Instead, they allowed employees to enjoy the day with their families.
