CREVE COEUR, Ill. -- The owner of a restaurant along the Illinois river said the river must really like her, because, "It keeps coming up to say hello." She wishes it wouldn't visit so often.

This is Jan Little's place, Kuchie's on the Water, in Creve Coeur.

On Tuesday, one of ice floating on the river rammed into Kuchie's dock, knocking off a large section of the platform into the river.

Little said the fact that her dock was hit was no great surprise.

"We lost four slips, that were broken out with the river, you know, with the ice coming in. And then it took about an 80 foot section that's attacked, with a wing and a prayer, to one of the spud poles. It took one of the spud poles down. It was fascinating to watch it happen. I wish I had video," said Kuchie's on the Water owner, Jan Little.

There is no damage estimate and no timetable for when the dock will be repaired.
