PEORIA Ill -- PIPCO Companies employees raised more than $22,000 for the Pediatric Critical Care Center to purchase two, MP 50 Monitors.

Employees spent the last several months fund-raising for the portable machines.

They will be used to transport patients, while monitoring their heart rate and blood pressure.

"They stepped up to the challenge and took over," said PIPCO Secretary/Treasurer, Karen Shadid. "They did it. We didn't. They got the enthusiasm going, they got the different fund raisers going, they had a ball with it, and we just supported them. They did the rest."

"We never fathomed it, said Sheet Metal Superintendent," David Gudeman. "The out-pour of people and the generous donations of people all over was just incredible. Words can't express it really."

With various fund-raising, PIPCO was able to surpass its overall goal of $15,000.
